These stainless steel knife edge squares are made to the highest Class 00 accuracy according to German Standard DIN 875. While this level of accuracy is overkill for general woodworking use, they are handy to have on hand for critical machine set up and also checking the accuracy of other squares that may have gone out of calibration. Because of their very reasonable price, there isn't really a good reason not to use them for general use. Because of it's small size and knife edge, the smallest 25 mm x 20 mm square in this series is very useful for checking the squareness of dovetail tails and pins.
We carry 3 sizes:
25 mm x 20 mm, with legs that are 6mm and 5 mm wide, and 3.5 mm thick. DIN 875/00 accuracy translates to a squareness of better than 0.003 mm (0.00012") along the entire length of both legs.
100 mm x 70 mm, with legs that are 20 mm wide and 5.5 mm thick. DIN 875/00 accuracy translates to a squareness of better than 0.003 mm (0.00012") along the entire length of both legs.
150 mm x 100 mm, with legs that are 25 mm wide and 7.7 mm thick. DIN 875/00 accuracy translates to a squareness of better than 0.004 mm (0.00016") along the entire length of both legs.
They are supplied in a foam padded cardboard box.
