This beautiful drawing compass is made by Makers Cabinet in the UK, who craft stylish, high quality drawing accessories. It is inspired by the Iris mechanism on a camera. The 103 mm (4.06") diameter body is machined from solid brass and includes metric cm scale markings indicating the circle diameter as the iris aperture size is adjusted by rotating one part of the body. The aperture leaves are made from carefully selected corrosion resistant stainless spring steel.
This tool is a great complement to a standard compass as it makes it possible to draw and measure single, concentric or even shaded circles between 3 and 70 mm in diameter. The new Iris drawing compass features added grip and honed tolerances for ease of use.
An Italian Leather sheath for the Iris is also available separately.
